Dev Diary: Patch 0.9.05.g "Gamma card engine launch" & Patch Notes

MAJOR FEATURE: New Trailer

At the beginning of the game you’ll now see our brand new Infinity Heroes reveal trailer. We are very excited to expand the lore and story of the Infinity Multiverse and have many hints at what is to come in our new trailer. It’s also available on our website and social media, so you can find it on our Youtube channel.

MAJOR FEATURE: Card Customization Redux

We have made major changes to how you can customize your cards in roguelike mode, and other future gamemodes. This allows you to change the name or artwork of any card you have access to, local to your machine. So don’t worry, you won’t be seeing poorly drawn cans of beer in your Infinity Heroes online games any time soon.

NEW HERO: Spartacus

In partnership with XCT comics we have added this new aggressive hero, that specializes in defeating other aggressive decks. He’s also the first hero we’ve got that has a distinctively different art style, paying hommage to his origins as a Comic book character in his art and animations. This is something we’re experimenting with, and we’re curious to hear what you think.

Other features

  • New Drop Shadow for flying units

  • Improve the asset bundles to improve loading times

  • New Infinity engine logo

  • Ingame Deck display now allows zooming

  • Improved visuals of roguelike choice panels and hero skills

  • New framework to change card frames and better display cards in menus

  • New VFX

  • New sound effects

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed modifiers being removed by incorrect messages

  • Fixed missing unstoppable on some cards

  • Random targetting is now more random

  • Fixed "put on top of deck" cards in roguelike mode

  • Fixed some cards triggering End effects when in hand

  • Added additional animation loading validation

In our latest patch “Gamma card engine launch”, a lot of our focus was only on two specific things. Firstly, the launch of Spartacus, as his world and ours collide during the XCT Infinity Comic series. If you haven’t, go and check out the comic’s Kickstarter page here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/2067957354/xct-infinity-issue-1?ref=zzkppq

His play style is very based on his character in the comics series, high aggression, and fantastic at causing chaos amongst his enemies ranks.

Next up, the Gamma release of the Infinity Card Engine comes with a lot more customisation, and our new intro trailer. You can replace any artwork or name on any card, to really make this game YOURS. Will you rename your heroes to friends and family? Maybe replace a character with an OC? Or fill your game with things you love in pop culture in general? Either way, you have the freedom to do just that, like never before. And, with all changes being local to the machine, you won’t need to worry about people yelling at you for liking the things you like. We support you, fam. <3

We also have a Patreon announcement and FAQ going live at the same time as this, so check the page out here: https://www.infinityheroesgame.com/blog-1/2020/9/22/iwcfaq

Additionally, Infinity Heroes is 50% off on Steam this week, so if you wanna get a friend into the game, tell ‘em now is the best chance, but more importantly, XCT Infinity is on now, so go and back the campaign so you don’t miss out on this first crossover event!

And as always, we’d love to hear from everyone on Discord, where we’ve been hosting Dev Team streams, where our players can come and chat, challenge us to a game, and ask us whatever’s on their mind across any of our games. If you’re not already there, check the link out and we’ll meet you there!
